The National Asset Management Agency (Nama) was set up by the the Irish Government in 2009 to buy toxic property loans from the financial institutions. In July 2010 Nama transferred the second tranche of toxic loans to Nama. The above graph illustrates the face value of the loans transfered to Nama and the value of government bonds that was issued in return for the second tranche.
